Peace Lodge/La Paz Waterfall Gardens

The Peace Lodge is surrounded by cloud forest and located on the grounds of La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park near Volcano Poas. Your stay at the Peace Lodge includes all the amenities of this fantastic Nature Park. The rooms are designed with unique amenities such as oversized balconies, Jacuzzi tubs, waterfall showers and grand stone fireplaces. The Nature Park includes 3.5 km of paved trails that showcase 5 magnificent waterfalls and a kilometer of frontage on the La Paz River. Along this path you will find spectacular gardens with information about the plants and their peculiarities.

The Hummingbird Garden at the Peace Lodge attracts 23 of the 57 species of hummingbirds found in Costa Rica. The birds have become incredibly tame so you can approach within inches and sometimes even touch them.
The onsite Butterfly Observatory is a magnificent enclosure and the largest of its type in the world. You will watch butterflies being born from their pupa and be able to handle and release them into their first flight. Activities in the area include tours to the famous Poás Volcano, Coffee Plantation, river rafting for beginners, a boat cruise on the Sarapiqui, horseback tours, and the Center for Neotropical Studies.
