Itinerary Classic Costa Rica Package

Day 1: Liberia Airport Arrival

Arenal Volcano, Costa RicaAt your arrival to the International Airport of Liberia, you may pick up a 4X4 vehicle from the car rental to continue your trip towards the Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica’s most spectacular geological attraction. The drive from the Liberia airport in Guanacaste to Arenal is approximately 3 hours. Overnight in Arenal.


Day 2-3: Arenal

After breakfast, you will have free time to enjoy the hotel facilities and surrounding areas. You may enjoy many tours such as the thermal baths, hanging bridges, the canopy tour or horseback riding. Overnight in Arenal.


Day 4: Monteverde

After a relaxed breakfast and check out from your Hotel, you may drive towards the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. The drive is approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival in Monteverde, you will find that much of this village remains untouched by modern life; most of the people here still lead rural lives, although there are many elegant restaurants, hotels, banks, souvenir shops and cafes. Overnight in Monteverde.


Day 5-6: Monteverde

Monteverde, Costa RicaIn Monteverde you may enjoy the wonderful view of the cloud forest that surrounds the whole area, and in which more than 400 species of birds and more than 3000 species of plants have been discovered. Enjoy the view of the Gulf of Nicoya from the distance, swim in the cold water of the San Luis waterfall, visit the famous cheese factory, hike to the top of Cerro Amigos, or walk to one of the viewpoints where it is possible to see the Arenal Volcano. Overnight in Monteverde.


Day 7: Tamarindo

After a relaxed breakfast and check out from your Hotel, you may drive towards the beaches of the North Pacific. The drive is approximately 4 hours. Upon arrival to the Pacific coast you may enjoy the wonderful long stretches of white sanded beaches and warm emerald waters. Overnight in Tamarindo.


Day 8-9: Tamarindo

Tamarindo Beach, Costa RicaSwimming in the warm ocean, snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, boogie boarding, horseback riding, scuba diving or just relaxing are some activities you may enjoy in Tamarindo and the beaches which are close-by. Walking on the trails of the nearby Diria Wildlife Refuge and Marino las Baulas National Park (where leather back turtles come every year between October and March to lay their eggs) is an amazing experience. The estuary to the north separates Tamarindo from Playa Grande. You may also rent canoes to explore the mangroves up the estuary.


Day 10: Tamarindo/Liberia/Departure

After breakfast, you may drive to the International Daniel Oduber Airport in Liberia. The drive is approximately 1.5 hours. You may drop off your rental car at the airport. Check in for International flights are 2 hours prior to the departure time.
