Doka Estate Coffee

Doka Estate Coffee TourDoka Estate Coffee Tour is a private tourist resort that offers to the visitor an unforgettable experience in a plantation unique for their technology and coffee process. You can sample the different types of coffee in a peaceful and warm environment that will transport you to the festivity of the most famous Costa Rican crop at Rancho “La Cajuela”, with a capacity to accommodate 200 guests. A visit to the plantation will provide you with knowledge about the different methods of cultivation from the seedling to the matured plant; the opportunity to be exposed to the manual harvesting of coffee and what the different variables such as altitude (4500 feet above sea level), the volcanic soils, the temperature (23 Celsius), and the plant itself (Arabica) will do to make an excellent quality coffee. The processing plant (mill) founded at the beginning of the last century is the oldest wet mill powered by the spring water that runs down from the nearest mountains. It maintains all of its original structure and machinery, for this reason it was declared Historical and Architectural Heritage by the Costa Rican government in June of 2003.
