It also includes the famous National Park that bears the same name. The Manuel Antonio National Park is the most popular and visited park of Costa Rica. It was created in 1972 and encompasses an area of around 682 hectares of primary and secondary forests. This park is among the most diverse and beautiful places in Costa Rica. Its white sand beaches, mangaroves and islands host 109 species of mammals, including the endangered squirrel monkey, titi monkey and the Capuccino monkey; 184 species of sponges, crustaceans and fishes.

The area of Manuel Antonio offers a wide variety of attractions and activities that combines nature and adventure.

Manuel Antonio stretches over a hill with fantastic ocean views, and is a few minutes away from the town of Quepos. The town of Quepos is well known throughout the country as a fishing town where you can enjoy activities such as canopy tours, horseback riding, kayaking, rafting, and surfing. The center of this town is filled with hotels, restaurants, art galleries and shops and at night Quepos has a lot more to offer: Discos, restaurants, and dancing bars.
